This is a chic little rental home with a BIG personality! It has all anyone could want after a day of adventure or concert-going to kick-back and relax. It's also the perfect artist's or yogi retreat. A fully-equipped kitchen, two queen beds, beautiful open floor plan, private 1-vehicle garage, seasonal terraced gardens, stunning mountain views, separate reading/writing/yoga/space with a funky vibe - you'll love it! A playful Havenese puppy may greet you during your stay. He belongs to the co-hosts who live on the property.
A short 7-minute drive to the famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, this home is located on Bear Creek Canyon Scenic Mountain Drive between Morrison and Evergreen. The home is across the street from Lair O' the Bear Park which features diverse wildlife, hiking trails, fishing and picnic areas.
Hiking & cycling (road & mountain) – are incredible & easily accessible. Bring your hiking boots & bikes! It is a wonderful place to take a walk or a jog in the morning or at dusk, when you are most likely to run into our most populous neighbors - the mule deer! They're beautiful, majestic & look harmless. But it's not advisable to try to pet or feed any of our local wildlife.
__
To the east... the historic Colorado mountain town of Morrison is a 10-min drive down winding Bear Creek Canyon. Its Main Street is filled with restaurants, quaint shops & antiques. Morrison is most well-known as the home to RED ROCKS PARK & AMPHITHEATRE, the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world! But, if you think Red Rocks is just a beautiful place to see a concert, think again! It encompasses hundreds of acres of mule deer, dinosaur remains, pine trees and prairie dogs, geological formations and fabulous vistas. Red Rocks offers guided tours, hiking, biking and a summer concert series. The fitness scene here rocks, and every morning you'll see yogis doing downward dog on stage, CrossFit enthusiasts frog-jumping the steps, or folks walking up/down the 69 bench seats at 6400 feet elevation.
Morrison also boasts The Fort, a high-end, critically lauded wild-game restaurant which is a replica of Bent's Old Fort, which was an 1840s adobe fur trading post.
__
To the west... charming, historic “downtown” Evergreen is a quick 13-min drive. Settled in 1859, it retains much of its old west charm. Dining options are aplenty as well as wonderful & unique shopping, music, galleries & nightlife.
Evergreen Lake offers a day's worth of activities, in any season. In winter, there's skating, ice fishing & cross-country skiing. The lake was voted one of the “top 10 most beautiful skating rinks in the world" by CNN. If you visit over New Year's, celebrate by roasting marshmallows by firelight, gazing at ice thrones, & watching the falling ice star & fantastic firework display at midnight. In summer, enjoy fishing, sailing, stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing & more. Rent boats, kayaks, or paddle boards at the lake. There's also a music festival, w/ free music on Wed. nights.
