House
As soon as you arrive at Mountain Perch, you’ll see just how fitting its name is. The three-bedroom cabin really does feel as if it’s perched atop a cliff, giving you the most extraordinary views of the mountains and lush woodlands of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
You can savor the spectacular vistas from the rocking chairs provided outside. During the day the kids will love it; they’ll feel as if they’re soaring over the edge of a bluff. In the evening you and your special someone will love it too: Sitting beneath the star-studded sky, with only the serenading whip-poor-wills as company, is so romantic.
The porch’s hot tub provides another glorious vantage point for reveling in the surrounding grandeur. So does the balcony, outfitted with two rockers, connected to the primary suite. And even as you relax in the main floor’s great room you can marvel at the view, courtesy of a wall of picture windows.
That’s not the only reason Mountain Perch’s great room is so inviting. Anchored by a roomy leather sectional, the living area can comfortably seat the whole family. In winter you can enjoy hot cocoa or Irish coffee by the fireplace. And any time of year is a good one to stretch out and watch a movie on the HDTV with cable and a DVD player.
The dining area, with a table that seats six, is part of the open-plan great room as well as a game area that houses the pool table. And there’s a kitchen too, fully equipped with stainless-steel appliances, cookware, tableware, and ample counter space.
The three bedrooms are upstairs. The primary suite is a true haven. When you’re not curled up in the glider chair with a good book, you can stretch out on the king-size bed and watch TV, surf the web (Mountain Perch has free WiFi), or simply relish the chirping of the crickets and tree frogs outside. The private primary bath is also spacious—to match the grandeur of the rest of the house. Best of all, it includes a large Jacuzzi with its own luscious view.
The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the third features two twin beds. Each of these bedrooms has its own TV. The second full bathroom includes a combination shower/tub. For added convenience, there’s a half-bath as well. And speaking of convenience, Mountain Perch has its own washer and dryer.
Mountain Perch is located in Gatlinburg’s quiet Cobbly Nob neighborhood, which itself is part of a 1,000-acre resort. Cobbly Nob boasts an 18 hole Gary Player golf course, tennis courts and, when you stay here in summer, you’ll have free access to two outdoor swimming pools.
Mountain Perch is also just a few minutes from the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of more than 120 galleries, shops, and studios. And only 20 minutes away is downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, thrill rides, arcades, and a tram that carries you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.
Then again, you could happily while away your entire vacation simply relaxing at the cabin, luxuriating in the hot tub, marveling at nature’s grandeur, and enjoying each other’s company. However you spend your time here, it’s sure to be magical and memorable. So book your stay at Mountain Perch today… before someone else gets to it first.
